Káli Basin is one of the most precious pearls of Balaton Uplands National Park. The countryside is calm in winter, delightful in spring, sparkling in summer and enchanting in autumn.
The village of Köveskál ituated in the geographical centre of the basin, preserves in its name the memory of the Kál family that settled here around the Hungarian conquest.
The two main buildings of Káli Art Inn and some of the outhouses were built in that period. The main building changed hands several times and even served as an officers’ casino for a short time. It has remained almost in its original state; now there are three suites in the building.
Butique Pansion
Káli Art Inn is built on a one-hectare area in the enchanting Káli Basin.
The Káli Art Inn is a cluster of six buildings with 15 uniquely furnished rooms altogether.
The oldest of the buildings, where you can find three premium suites, was built at the end of the 1880s.
Three specially furnished rustic rooms are hidden in the old barn.
Our eight standard rooms are located in the newly built stone house in the almond garden.
In 2017, we built a modern SPA catering to all your needs in the relaxing area of the garden, with a panoramic sauna, a relaxation room and a massage room.
On the southern side of the garden there is a separate guest house with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen.
The old farm building has been developed into a back office and the reception.
The restaurant, where breakfast and dinner is served, was built over 200 years ago.
The Garden
The garden of Káli Art Inn lies on a one-hectare area.
The garden is creating itself organically – we simply look after it and provide it with what it needs the most. We water it, mow the lawn then we compost grass clippings and then feed the garden with the compost. The garden blooms with different flowers every season, with lavender being the characteristic flower of all. The herb garden, which gives aromatic herbs to the kitchen, occupies the area in raised beds between the old barn and the main building.
Wild garlic, chives, and lettuce grow there in spring, and we have tons of tomatoes, balmy basil and sage in summer, then beetroots and chard in autumn. It well provides us with Brussels sprouts even in winter.
The Pools
There are two swimming pools in Káli Art Inn.
One of them is a usual swimming pool with blue water maintained with conventional methods. Its size corresponds to the standards of usual pools, its depth is 150 cm on average.
The other pool, which is fed by our own spring, is in the relaxing area of the garden. It is cleaned applying biological methods.
It is big enough to swim in and it is a bit deeper than the pool.
Due to its location and design it is available for adults only.
The Restaurant
The restaurant of Káli Art Inn is primarily for the comfort of overnight guests but guests who do not look for accommodation in our Inn are also welcome.
Breakfast is served between 8.00 -11.00 a.m. and dinner is served from 6.00 to 9.00 pm.
The wine list is personally selected.
You can enjoy the best wines of local cellars in the restaurant or on the shady patio.

Káli Art Inn Sauna
The Sauna is open between 10.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. The modern sauna building covered both inside and outside with alder wood is in complete harmony with the surrounding garden.
Through the panoramic window of the relaxation room you can have stunning news of the eco-lake and the garden.
